The next five week block of Night Study will commence on Tuesday night 23rd January – 1st March.

It consists of study under strict supervision four nights a week, Monday to Thursday 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Normal study rules apply. Uniform not essential.

30 students required in order for this study to take place.

The total fee per student will be €65.00. This fee must be paid by Thursday 18th January.

Cheques to be made payable to Scoil Mhuire, Clane.

For those who would prefer to pay by cash/cheque may do so by calling into Adult Education office beside the Sports Hall.

Note: Parents/Guardians should also complete and sign Study Application Forms indicating acceptance of the Rules listed below.

Parents should note that each student’s school journal is stamped every day that they attend study.  Please check their journals on a regular basis to ensure that they are attending.


The following are the rules which students are asked to adhere to during each study session.  Study begins at 7.30pm. sharp and ends at 9.30 pm.  General school rules apply plus the following:

  1. No communication whatsoever, i.e. no talking, passing books or pens, etc.  No interrupting supervisor, eating, reading magazines. 

  2. Toilets - only in emergency.

  3. Students who are late for study must bring a note the following day with explanation.

  4. No note - No admission. 

  5. Any student who has been absent must bring a note on return.  No grace given.  Study note is separate from general school absent note.

  6. Any student who must leave early on a regular basis must furnish an explanatory note in advance of the term.

  7. Each student will be assigned a place in the study room.

  8. Any student who disobeys any rule will be dealt with in the following manner.
    a. First breach, a verbal warning.
    b. Second breach, one-week suspension.
    c. Third breach, two weeks suspension.

  9. Suspension notes will be posted home.

  10. The Supervisor's decision is final and no appeals are entertained.

  11. Students are required to make their own arrangements for going home.

  12. Students should only use their own Resource Area.

  13. Mobile Phones not allowed in study otherwise may be confiscated.

  14. Students are not permitted to enter the study room until supervisor arrives.

  15. Writing on desks or walls is strictly forbidden.

We would encourage parents to ensure that their son/daughter attends study every day, in order to benefit from it.
